Reem Assil
Reem Assil, owner of Reems California in Oakland, California, was the subject of an article we created for The Lesser Known Quarterly. In addition to being a bad ass chef, she’s a bad ass advocate for human rights and community resilience. She let me into her world, fed me some of the most amazing nammoura (semolina yogurt cake) staight from the oven, and shared her mission in life. She’s a baddie and now you know too.
